Pay

Starting pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Requirements

• Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (extended to 18 months for layoffs or child/elder care).
• Previous work history does not apply to applicants who have been full-time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
• Rehire criteria: minimum waiting period of 180 days and no more than 3 prior employments at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
• Applicants must reside in the United States.
• Priority consideration for internal applicants and those with previous agricultural or production experience.

Schedule

Responsibilities occasionally require an adjusted work schedule, typically Monday, Tuesday, and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, including holidays until the job is complete. Positions average 30 hours per week. Hours begin at 4:00 a.m. and are subject to change based on production needs.

About the Role

This position is responsible for packing eggs, sanitizing egg flats/trays, racks, buggies, and all other hatchery equipment and rooms.

Responsibilities

• Run egg pack machine to pack eggs and use a strapping machine to strap cases of eggs (40%).
• Clean and sanitize the Egg Pack Room, egg pack machine, and other hatchery equipment (egg flats/trays, farm racks, and setter buggies) using high-pressure and regular water hoses (40%).
• Monitor and record temperatures in the hatchers and setters (5%).
• Hand transfers: packing and/or unpacking eggs by hand (10%).
• Operate high-pressure and regular water hoses, maintain foot pans and hand sanitizer, pack export eggs into cases, assist Egg Pack Lead as needed, assist Egg Room as needed, assist Sanitation as needed, and maintain a clean and organized work area (5%).

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare Requirements

• Shower and change clothing/footwear before entering the facility (provided by the company).
• No jewelry may be worn except for medical ID jewelry; body piercings must be covered by appropriate clothing.
• Must sign an agreement to avoid contact with avian species (e.g., chickens, ducks, birds).
• Must sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must use safe lifting techniques and be able to lift/move 50 lbs. and push/pull 500–1000 lbs.
• Overhead lifting is required.
• Required to work on wet and slippery surfaces daily.
• Regularly required to stand for the majority of the shift (concrete floor), walk, sit, use hands to handle objects/tools, reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, bend, talk, or hear.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Tools and Equipment: Proficiency in using Tray Washer, Buggy Wash, and High-Pressure hose.

Environment: Work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, and cold environments.

Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses, safety goggles, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, rubber boots, ear plugs, and earmuffs as needed.

Chemicals Commonly Used: Formaldehyde, disinfectant, lubricants, and Virocid.

Safety: Expected to follow all safety policies and procedures, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, and Personal Protective Equipment. Must identify, address, and mitigate safety-related risks.

This position is responsible for maintaining product flow, relieving team members on the line for breaks, and filling in during labor shortages while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures.
