Starting pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings, nights, and weekends.

Schedule

Monday through Friday with a rotating weekend schedule, including holidays. Hours: 5:50 AM to 1:50 PM. Times may vary and the work schedule is subject to change based on production needs.

Requirements

• Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months (extended to 18 months for layoffs or child/elder care).
• Previous work history does not apply to applicants who have been full-time students consecutively for the last 36 months.
• Rehire criteria: minimum waiting period of 180 days and no more than 3 prior employments at Cobb/Tyson Foods.
• Applicants must reside in the United States.
• Previous agricultural or production experience preferred.
• Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid contact with avian species (chickens, ducks, birds, etc.).
• Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Feeds and waters birds according to schedules (30%).
• Monitors temperature, lights, and adjusts as instructed.
• Walks floors daily; examines birds for signs of illness and treats according to instructions; picks up and disposes of mortality, loads mortality into incinerator (20%).
• Places pen partitions according to calculations; segregates birds according to line and age of source (20%).
• Cleans and disinfects waterers and pens; performs routine housekeeping duties; repairs pens and equipment (feeders, waterers, lights, fans, etc.) (10%).
• Records information such as line, MG, bird weight, medications, feed and water intake, and mortality (10%).
• Other duties may include: inspecting birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly; sanitizing breakroom, boot rooms, equipment, and vehicles; properly euthanizing selected or weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy (10%).

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements

• The jobsite is a bio-secure environment requiring showering and changing clothing/footwear before entering (provided by the company).
• No jewelry may be worn except for medical ID jewelry; body piercings must be covered by appropriate clothing.
• Must follow all applicable safety policies and procedures, including Hazard Communication, Respiratory Protection, LOTO, and Personal Protective Equipment.
• Expected to identify, address, and mitigate safety-related risks.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

• Must be willing and able to perform physical requirements with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Regularly team-lift up to 35 pounds (e.g., partitions, boxes of chicks).
• Use of tools such as shovels or pitchforks to move feed or shavings.
• Stand for the majority of the shift on multiple floor surfaces (concrete, shavings); walk, sit, handle objects, reach, balance, climb ladders, stoop/bend up to 500 times per day.
• Drive a vehicle within the farm complex.
• Required vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Work on wet, slippery surfaces and in hot, dry, dusty, wet, icy, snowy, and cold environments.
• Personal protective equipment required: safety goggles/glasses, face shield, chemical gloves, waterproof apron, company-issued footwear, ear plugs, and NIOSH-approved N95 respirators as needed.
• Chemicals commonly used: disinfectants (Synergize, Virocid, Lysol, Clorox wipes), hand sanitizer, pesticides.
