About the role
Maintain and operate Powder Coating and Hydrographic Departments. Utilize equipment to apply protective coatings to product components. Load and unload racks with metal parts. Perform phases of pretreatment including parts cleaning and media blasting, according to material being coated. Place parts in and remove from oven when applying powder coatings, ensuring sufficient product surface temperatures have been reached for quality coating. Determine root cause of coating quality problems and implement remedy. Communicate issues, status, or remedy and improvement opportunities regarding coatings.
- Hydrographic film applied on accent parts: prep, paint, dip, and clear coat.
- Assist in maintaining environmental and safety standards; responsible for respirator training.
- Perform preventative maintenance to equipment requiring a detailed working understanding of all electrical components.
- Keep daily EPA and FDA logs updated.
- Troubleshoot coating equipment malfunctions.
- Collaborate with production personnel (with ability to reconfigure parts, processes, and/or materials in varying situations).
- Provide related information and technical support to others.
- Highlight cross-functional collaboration and ownership; emphasize continuous improvement and efficiency.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, preferred.
- Willing to learn the powder-coating process and equipment.
- Willing to learn coating system controls and delivery systems.
- Willing to follow correct process to maintain adequate quality control.
- Competent computer skills and ability to use a scan gun to manage inventory.
- Handling of large racks and lifting up to 50 lbs. required.
- Excellent work history and team-oriented.
- Must be willing to follow directions.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Strong problem-solving mindset.
Pay
The expected pay range for this role is $20.00 – $25.00 per hour. Final compensation will depend on factors such as experience, skills, and internal equity.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM–4:30 PM. Overtime may be available depending on business needs.
