About the Role
The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) seeks a skilled and passionate visual designer to contribute to one or more of the district's high school Marching Band and/or Winter Season programs. Throughout the production, the designer will collaborate with a credentialed teacher at a District high school, supporting students of varying skill levels. This role includes design, rehearsal preparation, instruction, and performance support at one or more school sites, contributing to a high-quality production for a diverse student body.
Responsibilities
- Design the visual presentation for the season-specific production.
- Attend and assist the director at rehearsals as scheduled.
- Attend performances as scheduled with the director.
- Stay informed about the director's goals, agendas, and timelines/deadlines for materials to be produced or learned by students.
- Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment.
This is a seasonal role tied to a specific production:
- Marching Band: One season/production.
- Winter Percussion: One season/production.
Requirements
- Experience designing visual representations for Marching Band, Winter Guard, and/or Winter Percussion.
- Experience teaching high school-aged students.
- Experience with small and large group instruction.
- Selected candidates must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results prior to employment.
