About the role
The East Side Union High School District (ESUHSD) seeks a skilled and passionate Color Guard specialist to work with one or more of the district's high school Marching Band and/or Winter Guard programs. Throughout the production, the coach will work alongside the credentialed teacher at a District high school, supporting students of varying skill levels. This role includes rehearsal preparation, instruction, and performance support at one or more school sites, contributing to a high-quality production for a diverse student body.
Responsibilities
- Teach and refine movement and equipment work for the production
- Work with all members to achieve technical excellence
- Attend and assist the director at rehearsals
- Attend and assist at performances as scheduled with the director
- Foster student creativity, discipline, and teamwork in a culturally responsive and inclusive environment
This is a seasonal position tied to a specific production: one season for Marching Band or one season for Winter Guard.
Requirements
- Experience in equipment and dance elements related to the Color Guard activity
- Experience teaching high school-aged students
- Experience teaching small and large group instruction
- Must complete an Edjoin online application and submit a resume and letters of recommendation/reference
- Selected candidates must pass fingerprint clearance and provide current TB test results prior to employment
