Leads and develops teams by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates. Conducts store tours to provide feedback and improve performance through the Tour-to-Teach program. Collaborates with associates at all levels on store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, sets clear expectations, and guides teams to implement business solutions while communicating objectives effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Model and demonstrate exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model.
  • Manage and support customer service initiatives, such as Store of the Community and community outreach programs.
  • Ensure customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; develop and implement action plans to correct deficiencies.
  • Provide process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing Profit & Loss (P&L) statements, managing budgets, forecasting, and controlling expenses.
  • Monitor and ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes.
  • Develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Supervise and develop hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, and providing recognition.
  • Promote a belonging mindset in the workplace and recruit qualified associates to meet staffing needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities, build relationships with key stakeholders, and support initiatives to meet customer and business needs.
  • Identify and communicate goals, measure progress, address improvement opportunities, and promote continuous learning.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Implement action plans related to the Open Door Policy and provide guidance on applying these in business processes.
  • Build high-performing teams by embracing differences in people, cultures, ideas, and experiences.
  • Create a workplace where associates feel seen, supported, and connected through a culture of belonging.
  • Attract and retain talent, empower and develop associates, and recognize contributions and accomplishments.

Requirements

  • 2 years of college; OR
  • 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR
  • 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities that sell firearms: Successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training.
  • For facilities that sell only ammunition: May require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility.
  • Must attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments (e.g., Academy trainings, Open Door trainings).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • General work experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Pay

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include:

  • Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) based on location.
  • State Pay Differential to meet legislative requirements, where applicable.

Schedule

Paid time off (PTO) and/or Protected Paid Time Off (PPTO) is provided for vacation, sick leave, holidays, or other purposes. The amount depends on job classification and length of employment and meets or exceeds paid sick leave laws where applicable.
