About the Role

A career in IBM Consulting is rooted by long-term relationships and close collaboration with clients across the globe. You'll work with visionaries across multiple industries to improve the hybrid cloud and AI journey for innovative and valuable companies. Your ability to accelerate impact and make meaningful change for your clients is enabled by IBM's strategic partner ecosystem and robust technology platforms, including Software and Red Hat. This co-op role supports Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials implementation projects, offering hands-on exposure to cloud ERP configuration, financial process design, and data migration in a collaborative consulting team.

Penn State offers a specialized Oracle certification track that provides a meaningful advantage in this role. At IBM, continuous learning and mentorship are prioritized, and as a co-op, you could advance to the full-time Associates program after graduation based on performance.

Responsibilities

  • Gain exposure to Oracle Fusion Cloud Financials configuration—including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Fixed Assets—under the guidance of senior consultants.
  • Support client workshops and requirements-gathering sessions to document financial business processes and translate them into Oracle Cloud configurations and workflows.
  • Assist with data migration activities using Oracle tools (FBDI/HDL) and report development (OTBI, BI Publisher) to support client readiness and go-live activities.
  • Participate in the full Oracle Cloud implementation lifecycle: system design, SIT, UAT, and cutover support.

Schedule

Year-long co-op at Penn State University Park, starting May 2027. Work up to 20 hours per week during classes and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a university degree with a track record of academic success (preferred majors: Accounting, Finance, MIS, Computer Science, or related fields).
  • Strong interpersonal skills that enhance collaboration and relationship building while managing dynamic workloads in an agile environment.
  • Interest in and foundational knowledge of Oracle Cloud or ERP systems through coursework, the Penn State Oracle certification program, Oracle Academy, or self-directed learning.
  • Readiness to adapt, take ownership of tasks, and communicate effectively through active listening in a client-facing consulting setting.
  • Ability to work up to 20 hours per week when classes are in session (fall/spring semesters) and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foundational understanding of financial accounting principles and cloud ERP processes; Oracle Academy, OCI Foundations, or Oracle Cloud ERP/HCM/SCM certification is a strong differentiator.
  • Exposure to SQL, REST/SOAP APIs, or cloud basics; familiarity with Oracle data migration tools (FBDI, HDL) or reporting tools (OTBI, BI Publisher) is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization platforms (Tableau, Power BI) or demonstrated comfort with financial data analysis through coursework or personal projects.
