About the role

The Co-Occurring Substance Use & Mental Health Therapist supports Acenda's Mental Health Urgent Care in Gloucester County, NJ, providing short-term clinical care to individuals experiencing co-occurring mental health and substance use needs. This role helps individuals stabilize, make meaningful progress and connect with the appropriate level of ongoing care.

Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments and providing evidence-based interventions such as Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Illness Management and Recovery (IMR). The Therapist collaborates with a multidisciplinary team, connects individuals with an APN for medication management when appropriate, engages families and community supports, and coordinates service linkages following completion of the 30-day program.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in a Human Services field with at least two years of post-Master's experience
  • Active New Jersey clinical license in good standing: LAC, LPC, LCSW or LSW
  • CADC or LCADC
  • Experience assessing and treating individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use needs
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices including MI, CBT, Solution-Focused Therapy and IMR
  • Strong clinical assessment, treatment planning and care coordination skills
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary, strengths-based team
  • Commitment to person-centered care for individuals with co-occurring needs

Pay

  • Full-time starting rate: $28.85/hour
  • $5,000 sign-on bonus - $2,500 paid at hire and $2,500 following successful completion of 90 days
  • Additional $1.50/hour for Spanish proficiency
  • Opportunity to earn additional bonuses

Schedule

Schedule includes evening and weekend hours.
