Mental Health Therapist
Ellie Mental Health is a locally owned and operated private practice in the Kansas City area, structured to remove many of the daily obstacles therapists face. We offer centralized support for inquiries, scheduling, client/therapist matching, insurance contracting, billing, and collections, allowing therapists to focus on providing therapeutic healing.
About the role
We are looking for therapists (LPC, LCSW, and LMFT) who seek a different employment experience—one that ignites creativity while minimizing the barriers of traditional therapy practices. Our clinics are located in Lee's Summit, Independence, the Northland, and off State Line Rd (Missouri side). We prioritize both our therapists and clients, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate mental health diagnoses, create and implement treatment plans, and complete ongoing documentation (including further diagnosis, treatment plan reviews, and case notes) according to company policy.
- For full-time clinicians, maintain a caseload of 25 client hours per week.
- Provide excellent customer service for clients and collaborate with a dynamic team to further our mission of filling gaps in the community.
- Utilize creativity in interventions to help clients achieve and exceed goals.
- Prepare and submit individual documentation for each session per company guidelines and protocol.
Requirements
- Master’s degree in behavioral sciences or a related field from an accredited college or university.
- On track to obtain licensure in Missouri (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW).
- Experience with diagnostic tools, treatment plans, and clinical case notes.
- General knowledge of therapy services, community resources, insurance billing, and mental health documentation.
- Ability to complete and submit documentation in a timely manner.
- Demonstrated ability to model stable, appropriate boundaries with clients.
- Comfort and familiarity working with a diverse client base.
- Proficiency in office technology (computers, email) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Certifications and/or training in CBT, DBT, EMDR, Play Therapy, and Sand Tray Therapy are a plus.
