Position Overview
Sofidel America is seeking a dedicated Converting Assistant Rewinder Operator to join their team. This role involves working closely with the Machine Operator to maintain efficient machinery operation. The position offers a starting hourly wage of $25.11.
Job Responsibilities
- Understand and apply customer specifications to ensure finished goods meet customer requirements.
- Program and monitor computerized operating panels and calculate mathematical conversions to ensure product standards are met.
- Initiate setup, operations, and adjustments of folding equipment and downstream equipment to achieve production quotas.
- Perform hourly quality checks and submit daily quality reports to the QA department.
- Maintain regular communication with quality, maintenance, and supervision teams.
- Train and monitor other employees on the machine.
- Demonstrate leadership skills consistently.
- Keep the work area clean and organized, adhering to lean initiatives.
- Maintain a safe work environment and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules.
- Support Sofidel America's Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to ensure a safe and hygienic workplace.
- Continuously support Sofidel's Employee Personal Practice Policy.
- Perform or assist with any operations as required to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements.
- Notify supervisors of equipment or operational issues and the need for additional materials and supplies.
- Participate in meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems, and maintain knowledge of new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent, or six to twelve months of experience in manufacturing inventory, purchasing, or training.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and in a team environment.
- Strong time management and prioritization skills.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and quality manuals.
- Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to learn and certify in lift and crane operation.
- Knowledge of tools, measuring tapes, calculators, and metrology instruments relevant to equipment operation.
- Ability to identify nonconformities and report them to supervisors.
- Effective communication skills, especially in conveying testing procedures and results to managers, technicians, and production personnel.
- Proficiency in using computers and standard software applications, as well as production equipment.

Work Environment
- Mandatory personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated plant and warehouse areas, including safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests, hairnets or hats, and other necessary protection.
- Versions of temperature in the plant/warehouse based on seasonal changes.
- Exposure to paper dust and noise levels requiring hearing protection.
- Vision (Near, Distance, Color, Peripheral, Depth Perception)
