CNC Setup Machine Operator - 3rd shift

3rd shift position with 10-hour shifts (Monday–Thursday, 9:00 PM–7:00 AM). Mandatory overtime on off days as needed.
Responsibilities
- Set up and adjust CNC machines.
- Operate Vertical CNC Mills (3 and 4 Axis) and Horizontal Mills.
- Navigate all CNC screens and functions.
- Collaborate with Quality department to interpret layout data.
- Perform equipment and maintenance checks.
- Apply material handling techniques to package parts off CNC machines.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement activities.
- Oversee all machined parts on the CNC machine.
- Check coolant for refractometer reading; mix and fill new coolant.
- Clean machine at the end of the shift.
- Complete and control daily paperwork, including:
- Production sheet
- Parts progress reports
- Job traveler packet
- SPC quality sheets
- Other necessary paperwork
- Work independently and as part of a team.
- Assist other personnel and perform additional duties as directed by supervisor.
- Report equipment or other problems to the Supervisor.
- Work safely, always wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, clutter-free workstation.
- Participate in a collaborative environment.
- Comply with safety policies and procedures.
- Accept feedback from the Team Leader to ensure safety standards are met.
- Complete special projects and other assigned duties.
Work Environment / Physical Demands
- Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to handle tools or controls, and communicate verbally.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Works near moving mechanical parts in a loud environment without air conditioning.
Requirements
- Able to read and understand inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, comparator).
- Experience with CNC programming.
- Preferred experience with Haas, Brother, and DMG Mori CNC Machining Centers.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Must pass a skills-based test, company background check, and drug screen.
- Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work efficiently and effectively as a self-starter.
- Able to read and interpret safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and handle variables.
- Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be conscientious, diplomatic, and detail-oriented.
Pay
Starting pay: $23.32 to $27.00 per hour, depending on experience.
