CNC Retrofit Technician

Position Summary Accountability: Actas engineeringpoint-of-contact to crossfunctionalproject teamsandcustomers.Facilitatecrosscoordinationbetweenengineeringdisciplines(Controls, Mechanical,Electrical,ProcessandSoftware).Manageengineeringdeliverablesrequired for proposals,development,andsoldprojects.Individualwillhavedesigncontrol, guidance, & releaseresponsibilities. Scope and Responsibilities: Essential duties include, but are not limited to the following: Proactively attains a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.Plan,developandmanageengineeringdeliverablesandresources.Functionbothas a designcontributor andteamleader.Participateinallphases of a projectfromproposalthrough final customeracceptance.Coordinatetechnicalteams to achievegoalswhileminimizingproject cost andrisk.Identify project risksand opportunities.Monitorengineeringbudgetandschedule for multipleprojects.Workingknowledgeofengineering-relatedprocesses fromorder entry to installation.Leaddesign reviews,includinghazardanalysis for assessingsafety ofdesignsaswellasFMEA.Review,collect,andimplement lessonslearned.Providetechnicalguidance to peers andassignedteammembers.Addressprojects,assignments andideas with the “bigpicture”approach, seeking the best solution.Works inconjunctionwithFivesMSITechnologyleadership. Education/Certification: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in an Engineering discipline; or four to ten years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience: 5+years’ experiencein a high technology capitalgoods manufacturingenvironment, preferably machinetools. Skills: Ability to communicateacross allareas of the organizationincludingpeers andalllevelsofmanagement.Ability to specify all Siemens and/or FANUC control components including servo motors, spindle motors, and drives associated with a CNC integration.Ability to specify all electrical components associated with a CNC integration.Ability to design electrical schematics using AutoCad.Ability to develop ladder logic including easy screens.Ability to develop and set all related CNC and PMC parameters.Ability to write custom macro programs related to tool changes, pallet changers, etc.Ability to power up and debug a machine from start to finish of a CNC integration.Ability to load all machine parameters and ladder logic into a Siemens and/or FANUC control.Ability to setup and test special machine functions as related to customer’s needs.Strongunderstandingof variousengineeringdisciplinesincluding:mechanical,electricalandcontrols.Proficientwith3Dparametric modelingandMSOfficesoftware.WorkingknowledgeofSAPandMSProject.Strive to continuously buildknowledgeandskills; shareexpertisewithothers.Understandbusinessimplicationsofdecisions;display orientation to profitability.Demonstrateknowledge ofmachinetoolend-user processes.Ability to scheduleproject tasks andcontrolcosts.WorkingknowledgeofISOstandards. Travel Requirements: Listed requirements are subject to change based upon Company work load and capacity. Listed requirements are based on current projection of needs. Up to 85%-90% TravelExtensive time on the road, 2 weeks on the road, 1 weekend home, 2 weeks on the road, 1 weekend homeFlexability to make quick adjustments to travel arrangements based on customer or company needWhen not traveling, expecation is to be at company facility
