CNC Manual Prep Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate cut‑off saws to prepare material for production.
• Measure and test material according to blueprints using tools such as digital micrometer, height gauge, caliper, and digital microscope.
• Program, set up and operate CNC EDM sink machines to produce precision parts per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Program, set up and operate CNC multi‑axis machines to produce precision parts per engineering drawings and specifications.
• Program, set up and operate manual and CNC wheel‑dressing machines.
• Set up template, sizing, placement and operation of a laser‑engraving machine to etch tool markings in accordance with safety procedures and MAPAL standards.
• Disassemble, assemble or dress grinder wheel packs for production.
• Set up and operate surface grinder and edge‑honing machines.
• Produce product in accordance with job router, print and capacity in the most efficient manner.
• Ensure work area and equipment are maintained, organized and cleaned to MAPAL standards.
• Exhibit and exceed all MAPAL behaviors as defined by policy, procedure, quality and safety standards.
• Perform tasks as assigned to qualification standard.

Qualifications

• Previous machining/machine‑shop experience.
• Proficiency in reading and understanding engineering drawings and instructions.
• Detail‑oriented with strong troubleshooting and process‑workflow skills.
• Good active listening; strong verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to work all shifts and, when necessary, overtime.
• Demonstrated ability to solve problems within the team and the overall operation.
• Punctual, reliable, organized, and committed to maintaining cleanliness.
• Working knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office 365.
• Adherence to company policies and safety program.
• Eager and ready to learn.
