About the role
This role involves setting up and operating various CNC machines, including lathes, mills, drills, grinders, and hobs, to produce precision gears, shafts, and assemblies for diverse industries.
Responsibilities
- Interpreting process sheets, blueprints, and sketches to determine machining requirements.
- Loading, unloading, and positioning workpieces manually or with equipment.
- Installing preset tooling and initiating machining operations.
- Monitoring machine displays, adjusting parameters, and ensuring dimensional accuracy.
- Inspecting first-run and subsequent pieces for quality, recording SPC data.
- Preparing materials for upcoming jobs to minimize changeover time.
- Performing preventive maintenance and maintaining a clean work area.
- Completing all necessary production reports and adhering to safety protocols.
- Performing additional duties as assigned to support manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree preferred.
- Intermediate reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
- Computer literacy, with ability to learn manufacturing software.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Problem-solving, analytical thinking, and interpersonal skills.
- Physical capability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform manual tasks.
Work Environment & Conditions
The role requires working in a manufacturing setting with exposure to mechanical parts and airborne particles, primarily standing and walking, with some bending and reaching. Safety and cleanliness are emphasized throughout the shift.
