CNC Machinist - Weekend Shift

About the Opportunity

We’re partnering with a growing precision manufacturing company in Wyoming, MI that produces high-quality parts. They are looking for a CNC Machinist to join their weekend shift. This is a strong opportunity for someone with CNC operation experience who wants a steady schedule, long-term stability, and the ability to work 3 days per week while being paid for a full 40-hour week.

This role is a great fit for someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, comfortable working with tight tolerances, and interested in building a career in precision machining.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC Swiss-style and Mill/Turn lathes to produce precision parts.
• Run and monitor machines during production to ensure parts meet quality standards.
• Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other measuring tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, schematics, and GD&T requirements.
• Check parts for accuracy, quality, and consistency throughout the shift.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow production procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
• Identify machine or quality issues and escalate them to setup technicians or supervisors.
• Communicate clearly with team members and support smooth shift handoffs.

Requirements

• 2+ years experience with CNC lathes, Swiss-style machines, or Mill/Turn machines preferred.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and quality requirements.
• Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks during a full shift.
• Dependable work ethic and strong attendance.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with a team.

Nice to Have

• Experience operating Swiss-style lathes or multi-axis machines.
• Experience in aerospace, medical, defense, or other high-precision manufacturing environments.
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
