CNC Machinist/Operator - Third Shift

About the role

Sets up and operates CNC Lathe machines to produce parts for pneumatic cylinders and manifolds. Cuts and machines rods and barrels for use in the assembly of pneumatic cylinders. Operates various specialty machinery, including tube cutter, tube deburrer, tube polisher, rod saw, flat press, and roller burnishing machine.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex CNC machine setups
• Reads, writes, and modifies programs for CNC Lathe machines
• Machines production components to critical blueprint tolerances
• Machine piston rods on CNC Lathe and various parts on CNC milling machine
• Machine production parts on manual lathe and milling machines as required
• Sets up CNC machines to produce production parts to drawing specifications
• Performs first piece inspection to drawing specifications
• Changes tool offsets to maintain dimensions per production drawings
• Reads inspection equipment in both inch and metric increments (caliper, micrometer, depth gage, last word indicator, pitch micrometer, etc.)
• Verifies conformance of all components to specifications
• Uses various types of roller burnishing machines to finish piston rods
• Washes rods in cleaning solution to prepare for assembly

Requirements

• Experience in manufacturing/warehouse/machine shop environment or equivalent combination of education/experience
• Basic computer skills
• Experience with SAP or similar system is a plus
• Knowledge of hand tools and the Metric system
• Knowledge of basic machine practices and safety standards
• Knowledge of measuring equipment and machine tools

Pay

Hourly position with a monthly bonus opportunity of up to 5% of base wages.
