CNC Machinist- Manufacturing - Production - Apprentice

Responsibilities

• Operate, set up and program CNC machinery.
• Using gauges - micrometers or calipers.
• Operating overhead cranes.
• Driving Forklift.
• Actively participate in safe work practices.
• Set up equipment, install tools and fixtures.
• Monitor entire run due to unique forgings.
• Edit G and M codes and program machine (training provided as needed - experience preferred).
• Load material into machine utilizing overhead crane to ensure safe machining on forgings up to 3,000 lbs.
• Monitor CNC machines/lathes/mills/saws.
• Check parts throughout, make adjustments to conform to specifications.
• Verify blueprint and dimensions.
• Visually inspect, layout and prepare materials as required.
• Identify forgings and material type.
• Read and understand entire part routing.
• Check parts throughout run and make adjustments.
• Examine material visually for flaws, defects and clean up.
• Calculate chain and strap adjustments to ensure the safe lifting and transporting of parts.
• Prior to loading part, identify forgings, material type, and verify blueprint and dimensions.
• Examine material visually for flaws, defects and clean-up.
• Actively participate in safety program to ensure the continued success of the program.

Qualifications

• Minimum Skills:
  • A high school diploma.
  • Strong math and computer skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Hand tools.
• Preferred Skills:
  • Use of micrometer, caliper and tape measure.
  • Machine set up and operation or programming.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Forklift operation.
  • Crane rigging and operation.
  • Prior manufacturing experience.

Pay

The estimated pay range for this position is the lowest and highest range we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We ultimately may pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future.

Schedule

HOURS : 2nd SHIFT 4:00 pm - 4:00 am MONDAY - FRIDAY

Requirements

A hair follicle drug screen, lifting test up to 65 lbs. and background check are required pre-employment.
