About the Role

Works with relevant functions to analyze, design, and manufacture complex components using machine tool equipment. Thoroughly understands the protocols of working safely with industrial equipment, electricity, and other energy sources. Acts as a formal resource coordinating others and quickly adapts to change in the manufacturing environment.

This position is responsible for the safe setup, operation, inspection, and operator maintenance of various machining work-centers in the Carrier Components department, including operating integrated production cells, auto gaging, auto load/unload via robot, and CNC equipment. Produces components that meet or exceed Cummins design engineering specifications while meeting standard productivity, cost, and delivery targets. Performs changeovers, setups, recognizes machining issues, makes machine/process adjustments, problem-solves, supports training, and identifies improvement opportunities for both robots and machines. Supports the Cummins Production System by performing all production activities to its standards.

  • Lead in Precision Manufacturing by using proficiency with CNC and other machine tools to ensure timely, accurate production of parts, supporting delivery targets.
  • Mentor and Guide Team Members by acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues to foster skill development and strengthen team performance.
  • Collaborate to Solve Production Challenges by working cross-functionally to identify constraints, schedule maintenance, and implement solutions that keep production running smoothly.
  • Engage in Team Development & Process Optimization through active participation in TPM initiatives and training to improve safety, quality, and workflow while growing professionally.

Qualifications

High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Significant work experience and in-depth knowledge obtained through specialized training and relevant experience.
