About the Role
The CNC Machinist II operates CNC machines to produce machined parts, ensuring quality, safety, and adherence to company standards. This role involves setting up machines, performing complex machining with close tolerances, changing tooling, and making minor adjustments.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines to produce machined parts
- Perform complex machining operations with close tolerances
- Change tooling and make minor adjustments as needed
- Maintain quality through measurement and routine maintenance
- Perform hand finishing of parts
- Follow GMP/GDP practices and safety protocols
- Record activities and maintain accurate documentation
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Support productivity goals and maintain 5S standards
- Escalate issues as needed
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
Qualifications
- Preferred: Associate's degree or apprenticeship in tooling & machining
- Preferred: Experience in a production environment
- Preferred: UK-specific math and English qualifications
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in operating, setting up, and maintaining CNC machines
- Strong math, measurement, and record-keeping skills
- Effective planning, organization, and communication skills
- Attention to detail, safety-minded, and reliable team player
- Ability to troubleshoot and escalate issues
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Requires standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds
- Visual acuity for detailed work and physical agility are necessary
