Responsibilities
- Prioritize safety in all operations, adhering to "SAFETY FIRST" protocols.
- Operate and set up CNC Mill and Lathe machines, including 5-axis technology with "Lights out machining" capabilities (e.g., probing, break detection).
- Demonstrate knowledge of fixturing and tooling design.
- Edit programs in MDI mode, preferably with Mazak, Okuma, Fanuc, or Siemens controllers.
- Set up tools and prove out CNC programs as needed.
- Maintain strong communication skills and wear PPE at all times.
- Utilize ERP systems to accurately record labor hours and production quantities.
- Suggest process improvements to leads/supervisors.
- Perform standard shop computations related to dimensions, tooling, speeds, and feeds.
- Understand and apply lean, Kaizen, and 6S concepts.
- Perform routine daily maintenance and housekeeping duties.
- Demonstrate a "can-do" attitude and commitment to continuous improvement.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in CNC Machining (3-4-5 axis); CNC Programming background preferred.
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift/move up to 35 pounds to chest level, occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds overhead.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and use of inspection instruments.
- Must be able to speak, read, and write English.
- Safety shoes and safety glasses required at all times.
- Must meet export control compliance requirements as a "U.S. person" under ITAR (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, political asylee, or refugee).
Work Environment
- Manufacturing and/or machining environment with a fast-paced, high-movement setting.
- Moderate to medium noise levels.
- Exposure to potential odors from chemicals and/or processes.
- Physically demanding role requiring the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
