Responsibilities
- Comply and maintain safe operations by adhering to NOV safety policies and procedures.
- Setup, program, and operate CNC machines under minimal supervision.
- Work as a team player with others in a demanding, fast-paced environment to meet frequently changing production.
- Carry out job requirements in accordance with established procedures and specifications while meeting established company production goals.
- Responsible for keeping equipment and work area clean, organized, and orderly.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
Requirements
- Wear PPE (personal protective equipment) such as gloves, clothing, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Work potentially performed in areas where harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g., fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing chemicals).
- Participate in medical surveillance programs as required by HSE.
- Adaptable to a changing work environment, competing demands, and frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
- Willing and able to work flexible shifts and changing work schedules; this position will be primarily 2nd shift.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating CNC machines such as lathes and milling machines in a heavy manufacturing environment.
- Experience setting and running a slant bed lathe and vertical mill utilizing FANUC machine controls would be a distinct advantage.
- Advanced knowledge and application of precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, ID and OD micrometers, depth gages, indicators, and scales).
- Intermediate knowledge of reading drawings and specifications with an understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions.
- Intermediate knowledge of tool holders, cutting tools, boring bars, fixtures, inserts, and other accessories used on various machines.
- Able to operate a forklift and lifting devices for movement of parts, or willing to gain certification.
- Able to follow written and oral instructions.
- Able to communicate in English (both written and oral) as it relates to the job.
- Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for calculating material fabrication.
