CNC Machinist III - 2nd Shift

This role is a 2nd shift position, with core hours between 2pm - 10:30pm Monday - Friday. The hourly rate for this position is $34.00 per hour. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.

About the role

Eaton’s Aerospace Group is currently recruiting for a Machinist III to set up, adjust, and operate a variety of machine tools such as engine lathes, mills, CNC machines, CNC lathes, drill presses, and deburr equipment. Perform operations including drilling, tapping, reaming, and boring on a variety of work requiring a degree of skill while ensuring dimensional accuracy is maintained.

Responsibilities

• Create setups and operate CNC machines to specific programs as per part number and work instruction sheet via utilization of DNC (direct numerical control) link on computer.
• Work from drawings and specifications using a variety of precision measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and understand Geometric Tolerance.
• Work under general supervision; work is subject to progress and final inspection.
• Inspect work after completion as well as complete all appropriate inspection paperwork.
• Skilled on both lathes and Mill/Turn 5-Axis.
• Rotate to various types of machines in order to be competent in their operation.
• Perform Lean Initiatives including Continuous Improvement.
• May be required to work beyond normal working hours from time to time as the workload dictates.
• Comply with all safety requirements, including proper use of personal protective equipment and operation of equipment in a safe and competent manner.
• Understand and meet all departmental safety objectives and goals.
• Keep assigned work-area clean, organized, and orderly per 5S standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
• A minimum of five (5) years’ previous work experience as a Machinist.
• Must have Lathe experience (2-3 axis).
• No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Irvine will be considered. Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
• This position requires access to export-controlled information. To conform to U.S. Government export regulations applicable to that information, applicant must be a U.S. person, defined as a (i) U.S. citizen or national, (ii) U.S. lawful, permanent resident (green card holder), (iii) refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157, or (iv) asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous work experience in the Aerospace Industry.
• Milling 4-Axis Experience.
• Mazak machining experience.
