CNC Machinist | Day Shift

About the role

We are hiring an experienced Machinist for a stable manufacturing company in Indianapolis. This is not a button-pusher role. We are looking for a true, hands-on machinist who is confident setting up, operating, and troubleshooting both manual and CNC mills and lathes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate manual mills, manual lathes, CNC mills, and CNC lathes
• Machine precision industrial components from blueprints and work instructions
• Perform machine setups, offsets, tool changes, and basic troubleshooting
• Read and interpret blueprints, tolerances, and GD&T
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools
• Inspect parts throughout the machining process to maintain quality standards
• Perform basic equipment checks and preventative maintenance
• Work independently while maintaining safety, accuracy, and production expectations

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on machining experience
• Strong setup experience, not just machine operation
• Manual machining experience required
• CNC mill and/or CNC lathe experience required
• Able to read prints and machine parts to tight tolerances
• Comfortable using precision measuring tools
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Someone who takes pride in quality workmanship and doing the job right
