Cnc Mill Machinist - Day Shift

About the role

PLI Manufacturing, a division of Phoenix Defense, seeks a CNC Mill Machinist for a Day Shift position. The ideal candidate will support the fabrication of critical aerospace/space products for prime initiatives and projects in the aerospace and defense industries.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and adjust semi-automatic or automatic numerically controlled CNC machine tools to perform standard and repetitive sequence of operations.
• Ability to run more than one unit simultaneously.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
• Maintain, implement, and improve 5-S Principles.
• Perform regular department housekeeping duties as necessary.
• Sustain production standards and quality.
• Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts, fixtures, and tooling.
• Performs daily and regular cleaning and light machine maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
• Performs preventive maintenance on equipment as required.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 7+ years of work experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with CNC machining techniques and methods, experience setting up and running 3, 4, and 5 Axis CNC Mills.
• Experience using Heidenhain, Fanuc, and Haas CNC controls.
• Working knowledge of operations including drilling, boring and milling, turning, etc., employing recognized tooling and procedures and where tolerances are close, but not difficult to maintain.
• Proficiently interpret in depth aerospace blueprints.
• Self-motivated individual that needs minimal supervision to be successful.
• Able to read & follow verbal & written work instructions in the English language.
• Requires the ability to follow written instructions and read blueprint specifications.
• Must be able to check parts for conformance to specifications.
