CNC Machinist

Responsibilities

• Operates Okuma CNC Milling & Turning machines under the direction of the area supervisor or Lead Person.
• Performs set-ups and operates machines, making edits and adjustments as needed to meet work orders, blueprint specifications, and sketches.
• Operates more than one machine in a cellular manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge of feeds and speeds and understands the application of cutting tools.
• Inspects work for dimensional features as required.
• Produces quality and quantity of work in accordance with company requirements.
• Accurately completes paperwork relating to counts, scrap, time, etc., according to company policy.
• Maintains area, equipment, and tooling in a neat, orderly condition.
• Maintains coolant tanks and fills as necessary.
• Assists new and less experienced operators as requested.
• Observes all company policies, rules, and regulations, including good housekeeping, safety, and security.
• Exercises good machining practices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

• 0-2 years CNC machinist experience.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
• Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and sketches.
• Basic mechanical ability.
• Experience with Okuma CNC machines and Fanuc controls.
• Experience operating in a cellular manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Experience in aerospace or tight-tolerance manufacturing environments.

Working Conditions

• Must be able to have prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
• Required to wear personal protective equipment (e.g., safety glasses and safety shoes).
• Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.
