Responsibilities
- Reviews job package in its entirety, including routing, blueprints, specifications and other documentation as appropriate to fully understand the process plan, part configuration (dimensions & tolerances), material, tooling and equipment to be used to produce the end product.
- Buils setup per documented plan, utilizing knowledge of proper setup procedures, machining practices, material properties and tooling.
- Operates production equipment utilizing knowledge of machining practices and safe operation techniques to produce components and/or services that meet customer needs.
- Initiates changes to the setup and/or operation to optimize production efficiency.
- Verifies conformance of work piece to specifications using appropriate measuring instruments.
- Evaluates deviations identified in the machining process to determine the cause and initiates corrective action if appropriate.
- Reports all deviations identified via Process Discrepancy Report (PDR).
- Trains less experienced machinists in advanced machining techniques to aid in developing a higher level of technical competence in the machinist labor force.
- Maintains a professional & personable relationship with superiors, peers and subordinates, being responsive to their needs as well as those of the company.
- Maintains a clean and organized workspace while adhering to safety protocols.
- Performs other duties or functions as requested by his/her supervisor or other authorized Midstate Machine personnel.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a CNC Machinist or similar role in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding of GD&T principles and blueprint reading skills.
- Familiarity with Fanuc controls but not required, will train.
- Ability to operate various power tools and precision measuring instruments effectively.
- Mechanical knowledge with problem-solving skills is essential.
- Must meet ITAR definition of US Person(s).
