CNC Machinist

About the role

Machinist II position within Industrious Group, a subsidiary of Itochu International Inc., focusing on manufacturing, rebuilding, repairing, and servicing equipment for the metal forming, steelmaking, and hydropower industries. Key clientele includes automotive companies, tier one and tier two auto suppliers, major steel producers, and public and private utilities.

Responsibilities

• Interpreting engineering drawings and selecting appropriate tooling
• Setting up, programming, operating, and maintaining CNC machines
• Making all but the most complex component setups on large VBM's and HBM's
• Editing programs for VBM's and HBM's
• Keeping supervisor informed of problems regarding work pieces, schedule, safety, etc.
• Cleaning up sweepings of machine tool operation scrap and collecting in scrap/trash bins
• Ensuring all parts meet strict quality and safety standards
• Maintaining accuracy and efficiency through monitoring machine performance and making necessary adjustments
• Collaborating with engineering and production teams to ensure reliable, high-quality turbine components are delivered on schedule

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred, High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
• Two to four years’ experience as a CNC Machinist
• Journey Machinist certification preferred

Skills

• Blueprint reading and understanding of geometric tolerancing
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
• Problem solving, oral communication, written communication, teamwork, quality management, innovation
