About the role

Husky TechnologiesTM is seeking a CNC Machinist to join our team in Milton, VT. This position is full-time and plays a crucial role in our manufacturing facility.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain tooling in peak condition
  • Understand specifications and desired results by reading mechanical drawings, etc.
  • Translate instructions into computer commands to ensure machines perform correctly
  • Prepare and load raw materials and parts onto machines
  • Supervise machines while executing programs and make necessary adjustments
  • Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet requirements
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for repairs
  • Maintain continuity among shifts by documenting and communicating actions
  • Make subjective quality decisions regarding part cosmetics and aesthetics
  • Provide technical leadership and training to entry and intermediate machinists
  • Investigate and perform root cause analysis on non-conformance and scrap events
  • Communicate findings and correct dispositioning to team leader, quality analyst, and programming support
  • Support process manufacturing capability studies and improvement projects
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing processes
  • Regrind or alter standard tooling to meet custom feature requirements
  • Program and edit parts, write macro sub-routines as necessary to facilitate operation of unattended equipment
  • Develop tool specifications and procure for machining various dimensional characteristics
  • Perform machine setup and first piece program/part validation for any 'one-off' prototype jobs
  • Conduct audits of manufacturing processes

Requirements

  • High school diploma or high school equivalency
  • Demonstrated proficiency in CNC machining
  • Basic computer knowledge
  • Understanding of machine controllers (PLC’s and CNC’s)
  • Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
