CNC Machinist
About the role
The CNC Machinist plays a crucial role in ensuring that machined parts meet quality, dimensional, and customer specifications. They operate and monitor CNC machines, perform grinding, assembly, soldering, and bonding tasks, and contribute to the establishment of quality systems.
Responsibilities
- Maintain high-quality standards through precise measurements and adjustments to manufacturing processes.
- Willing to learn multiple CNC machines and inspection stations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation.
- Meet standard production output requirements.
- Implement continuous improvement ideas and suggestions.
- Maintain and promote a safe working environment by following safety rules and policies.
- Maintain and promote 5S.
- Contribute to the establishment of crucial quality systems.
- Absorb and develop inspection systems and methods.
- Effective teamwork and communication with fellow team members.
- Assist in the development of inspection systems and methods.
- Other duties as required in support of the department and the company.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of CNC machining experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Basic arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to learn and apply advanced technical concepts.
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems with limited information.
- Able to communicate effectively with management and co-workers.
- Flexible with work and job assignments.
- Dependable and available to work overtime.
- Excellent blueprint reading skills, including GD&T per standard.
- Ability to use precision and portable coordinate measuring equipment to take accurate measurements.
Physical Demands
- Sit, stand, and walk throughout the day.
- Frequent use of hands to handle objects and communicate verbally.
- Reach, stretch, push, pull, crouch, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Personal Protective Equipment Requirements
- ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
- Hearing protection in specific locations.
- Ability to comply with JSA in specific areas.
