CNC Machinist 2nd Shift

About the Role

Leidos’ Defense Systems Colorado Manufacturing is seeking a CNC Machinist for the 2nd shift at our Colorado Springs, CO location. The ideal candidate will have experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools, including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes. Our team delivers innovative solutions for customers with “can’t fail” missions, solving the world’s toughest security challenges.

Responsibilities

• Read engineering drawings and operate CNC lathes (primary), with backup operations on CNC mills and other manual equipment.
• Set up and run machines to convert raw materials into precision finished goods within print tolerance specifications.
• Use fixtures or gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
• Work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with minimal assistance.
• Perform other duties as required, including overtime when necessary.
• Manufacture large aerospace components from exotic materials (preferred).
• Experience with 5-axis and/or mill-turn machines is a plus.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• 3-5 years of precision machining experience on CNC Mills and CNC Lathes.
• Intermediate knowledge of shop math skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools, including deburring tools, wrenches, etc.
• Experience with precision measuring and fixed gauge equipment (micrometers, calipers, electronic height gauges, etc.).
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.
• Full-time availability, 4 days per week, 10-hour shifts (2nd shift).
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience manufacturing complex aerospace components from exotic materials.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Basic PC skills for data entry, timecard, and production time entries.

Pay

Pay Range: $57,850.00 - $104,575.00. The Leidos pay range is a general guideline and not a guarantee of compensation. Additional factors considered include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, internal equity, and market data.
