About the Role

The Certified Nursing Assistant is trained to provide care in the clinic setting to patients under the supervision of a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse. Compliance with rules and regulations of all applicable federal, state, and local laws, as well as PMHC policies, is a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the collection of assessment data, such as vital signs and intake/output. Subjective and objective data are reported to Clinic Nurse in Charge.
• Provides care that meets the patient's needs, such as repositioning, dressing, and ambulating for patients of all ages.
• Collects laboratory specimens.
• Creates and maintains a comfortable and safe environment for patients, families, and visitors.

Reports directly to the Director of Phelps Medical Group.

• Frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is exposed to fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
• Occasionally works with explosive, toxic, or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• Level of risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens is Classification (I), as outlined in the Hepatitis B Vaccine Program Policy.

Requirements

• Completion of an approved nursing assistant or certified medical assistant course.
• Currently licensed as a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Nebraska.
• Current BLS certification must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
