Role Overview
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides essential home care services to patients in their residences, ensuring high-quality, compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with personal hygiene, including bathing, shaving, hair, and mouth care.
- Support patient transfers, repositioning, and ambulation.
- Administer basic nursing care and prescribed exercises under supervision.
- Prepare meals considering dietary needs and preferences.
- Offer companionship and engage patients in activities tailored to their interests.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks as needed.
- Maintain accurate records, document changes in patient conditions, and utilize electronic visit verification (EVV) systems.
- Uphold patient privacy, confidentiality, and safety, reporting concerns or abuse immediately.
- Follow the care plan strictly, without administering medications.
Qualifications & Skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Current TB skin test, criminal background check, drug screening, and compliance with North Carolina's Nurses Aide Registry.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Effective communication skills and physical ability to perform tasks such as lifting and standing.
- Dependability, flexibility, and a compassionate attitude toward patient care.
