About the role
This CNA works an average of 36 hours weekly on the evening shift, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Every other weekend and a holiday rotation are required.
Responsibilities
- Provides personal hygiene care
- Serves the needs of residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort
- Recognizes and deals with the problems of the aging process
- Reports changes in resident condition to shift nurse
- Maintains a safe, clean, attractive, and neat environment for the residents
- Awareness of and prevention of the abuse of vulnerable adults
- Maintains awareness of safety issues and strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner
- Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective actions
Requirements
- Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
- Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry or obtain within 4 months of hire/transfer date
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to pass a background check
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of long-term care and elderly care practices
