CNA - Certified Nursing Assistant (Part Time) - Evening/Night Shift

About the role

The position requires a Certified Nursing Assistant to serve at Essentia Living Center, a long-term care facility in Fosston, Minnesota. The CNA works evening shifts from 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM, or night shifts from 10:00 PM to 6:30 AM or 6:00 PM to 6:30 AM. There is a requirement for every third weekend and a holiday rotation.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct care to skilled nursing facility residents
• Serves the needs of residents in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort
• Recognizes and deals with the problems of the aging process
• Reports changes in resident condition to shift nurse promptly
• Maintains a safe, clean, attractive, and neat environment for the residents
• Awareness of and prevention of the abuse of vulnerable adults
• Strives to accomplish all responsibilities in a safe manner
• Identifies safety hazards and emergency situations and initiates corrective actions

Requirements

• Verifiable completion of a recognized nurse aide training program
• Current registration on applicable state nursing assistant registry or obtain within 4 months of hire/transfer date

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to pass a background check

Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Physical stamina and ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Knowledge of basic nursing procedures
