CMT Project Manager — Austin, TX

TWE — one of the largest private and minority‑owned geotechnical firms on the Gulf Coast — is looking for a CMT Project Manager in Austin, TX with hands‑on soils, concrete, or asphalt testing experience to take real ownership of client relationships, technician teams, and project outcomes. With 430+ engineers, scientists, geologists, and technicians across Texas and Louisiana, we have the resources of a large firm with the fast decision‑making of a close‑knit team. You’ll be the face of TWE on your projects — maintaining safety and quality excellence, keeping technicians sharp, and ensuring quality airtight.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building trust through consistent, high‑quality service.
• Draft proposals, secure project numbers, and initiate jobs correctly.
• Assign and train technicians; coordinate staffing directly with dispatch.
• Review, sign, and distribute reports; manage billing and invoicing.
• Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and generate new work.
• Lead safety initiatives on job sites and in the office.

Requirements

• High school diploma plus 7 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor’s degree plus 1 year of experience.
• 2 + years of Construction Materials Testing (CMT) experience – soils, concrete, and/or asphalt testing and inspection preferred.
• ACI, NICET, and/or TxDOT certifications preferred (Concrete Field Testing, Soils, Aggregate, or related disciplines).
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard testing/data software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort with numbers.
• Valid Texas driver’s license with a clean record.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and sit for extended desk work.
• Clean background check.
