Responsibilities
- Own and sustain 300mm CMP equipment performance across assigned toolsets.
- Drive improvements in: Tool availability, MTBF, MTTR, OEE, PM compliance, Repeat failures.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures using systematic problem-solving methodologies.
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) activities for chronic equipment issues.
- Develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to eliminate recurring downtime.
- Maintain tool health indicators and equipment fingerprints.
- Develop, optimize, and standardize PM procedures.
- Reduce PM variability and improve maintenance quality.
- Implement predictive maintenance strategies using equipment trends and SPC data.
- Define spare parts strategy and critical spare inventory requirements.
- Support maintenance technician training and certification programs.
- Lead continuous improvement projects focused on: Availability improvement, Cost reduction, Throughput optimization, Defect reduction, Cycle time improvement.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Perform Value Stream Mapping (VSM) and downtime analysis.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve fab performance.
- Support troubleshooting of: Polish modules, Transfer robots, Slurry delivery systems, Pad conditioning systems, Vacuum systems, Chemical delivery systems, Endpoint systems, PLC and automation interfaces.
- Work closely with vendors on escalated technical issues and hardware upgrades.
- Support tool recoveries after major failures, power events, or maintenance activities.
- Partner with Process Engineers to improve process capability and defect performance.
- Support engineering experiments, qualifications, and tool matching activities.
- Aid in recipe setup, equipment qualifications, and production ramp activities.
- Support line yield and excursion investigations related to CMP equipment.
- Analyze equipment performance data and generate actionable insights.
- Track and report sector KPIs, including availability, Utilization, MTBF, MTTR, Cost of ownership, Defectivity, PM completion rates, and present technical updates and improvement plans to leadership.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with semiconductor safety standards, LOTO procedures, Chemical safety requirements, and environmental regulations.
- Participate in safety audits and risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering.
- Experience: 0 to 2 years of relevant experience in semiconductor processing or a similar industry.
- Knowledge of tools such as Applied Materials Reflexion, Ebara CMP platforms, or similar CMP toolsets.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams to achieve goals and metrics.
- Intermediate-level data analysis skills, specifically in Excel or JMP, using formulas, pivots, and charts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint.
- Strong communication skills with experience in presenting technical project details.
- Self-motivated and results-oriented.
- Fluency (written and oral) in English is required.
