About the role
Tessera is seeking a CMM Programmer & Quality Inspector III to join their team! This role performs advanced dimensional and visual inspections, oversees CMM machine operations, and supports quality teams.
Responsibilities
- Create CMM programs, set up and establish inspection requirements based on design and engineering requirements.
- Set up, test, and operate CMM to perform inspections as needed.
- Create CMM programs for inspection and provide technical support to facility personnel.
- Maintain CMM related equipment and all relevant quality documentation.
- Analyze dimensional results of prove-outs and effectively correct discrepancies.
- Test and modify existing parts programs for efficiency.
- Provide input in team activities that encompass quality and manufacturing producibility.
- Support AS9100 audits and ensure compliance with established standards.
- Answer audit questions involving procedures relating to Programming CMM as defined in the Quality Management Systems manual.
- Represent a professional, technologically competent point-of-contact (POC) to external customer perception.
- Integrate new technology advances when appropriate.
- CMM Inspection: Operates CMM to exacting plans and dimensions, ensures work is clean and complete to specifications, maintains clean and orderly work area, follows process specifications, reviews supplied data and plans, reads drawings or examines existing machine parts, utilizes machine measuring tools, maintains safe operations, actively observes machine operation, performs and records First Article Inspections, generates non-conformance reports, assists with training and provides guidance for team members, supports AS9100 audits and ensures compliance with established standards, works from and follows process specifications, work orders, blueprints, schedules, schematics, layout & modification sheets, engineering orders and verbal/written instruction, communicates with personnel at all levels to problem-solve, instruct, and make improvements on the shop floor, conducts process/product audits, assists Estimating, Planning, Programming, and Manufacturing in special projects as appropriate.
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent is required.
- At least 8 years of previous experience in CMM programming and operation experience is required.
- Experience in Aerospace and Commercial Manufacturing is required.
- Equivalent combination of experience and education will be considered.
- Must be able to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties, work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking, standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climb in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
- Must have the ability to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
- A valid state driver’s license is preferred with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera’s insurance.
