About the role
This stable manufacturer serving both commercial and defense markets is adding a CMM Programmer to a close-knit quality team. The facility runs Brown and Sharpe DCC CMMs across three models using PC-DMIS. Existing programs are in place but need operator-friendly revisions, and new programs will be developed as production demands grow.
Responsibilities
- Writes, revises, and maintains CMM programs in PC-DMIS across multiple Brown and Sharpe DCC units
- Performs first-piece inspections on CNC machining setups and incoming vendor parts
- Conducts full assembly inspections, including GD&T evaluation on complex components
- Revises existing programs to improve operator usability and efficiency
- Evaluates current CMM equipment to provide recommendations on controller upgrades as needed
- Troubleshoots programming and inspection issues
- Communicates findings to quality and production teams
- Maintains accurate inspection records and documentation
Requirements
- High school diploma
- 1 to 2+ years of PC-DMIS programming experience
- Hands-on experience in metal fabrication, machining, or related manufacturing
- Proficiency with manual metrology tools, including micrometers and height gauges
- Experience inspecting machined parts, castings, and assemblies with GD&T callouts
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and troubleshoot without heavy direction
- US citizenship or permanent residency required due to ITAR compliance requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- AAS degree or CMM programming certification
- Calypso programming experience
- Defense, military, or aerospace manufacturing background
- Familiarity with ITAR requirements
- Collaborative mindset with willingness to train and mentor others
Compensation and Benefits
- $30 to $40 per hour, plus optional overtime
