About the role
A well-established precision manufacturing company serving the aerospace and defense industries is seeking a Quality Inspector. The position involves inspecting tight-tolerance machined components, performing first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections, and supporting internal audits and customer quality initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Program and operate Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) to inspect precision machined components.
- Perform first article, in-process, receiving, and final inspections.
- Complete AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (Forms 1, 2, and 3).
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T requirements.
- Inspect aerospace components using precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges, indicators, optical comparators, and other metrology equipment.
- Verify compliance with AS9100 quality requirements and customer specifications.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate quality records.
- Review certifications, material documentation, and inspection reports.
- Assist with nonconformance investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
- Partner closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to resolve quality concerns and improve production processes.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of quality inspection experience within an aerospace or precision manufacturing environment.
- Experience programming and operating CMM equipment.
- Working knowledge of AS9102 First Article Inspection documentation.
- Strong understanding of AS9100 quality systems.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.
- Experience inspecting tight-tolerance machined components.
- Proficiency using precision measuring instruments.
- Strong computer skills and experience documenting inspection results electronically.
