About the Role
The Clubhouse Generalist works side-by-side with members (program participants) in a psychosocial rehabilitation setting, maintaining an informal environment to reduce psychological distance. Generalists share responsibilities across employment, housing, evenings, weekends, holidays, and units, ensuring no conflicting major work responsibilities. The role focuses on encouraging members to assume productive roles within the facility and the broader community.
Responsibilities
- Work alongside members in the work-ordered day to identify needs, plan activities, and perform tasks such as meal preparation, administrative planning, clerical duties, store/snack operations, and building maintenance.
- Ensure unit work is completed, even if members are unwilling to assist.
- Identify and encourage the skills, talents, and creative ideas of each member daily.
- Support members in achieving vocational goals through Supported, Transitional, or Independent Employment, including skill-building, job applications, interviewing, job development, coaching, and follow-along supports.
- Participate in outreach activities to maintain a minimum of 40% daily membership attendance.
- Collaborate with case managers and other personnel to evaluate Treatment Plan goals and recommend amendments as needed.
- Engage in social/recreational activities on some weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Serve as an advisor, advocate, and resource for a caseload of members.
- Promote recovery-based, person-centered, and culturally competent practices.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Personable, positive, and enthusiastic attitude with the ability to interact effectively with internal and external customers.
- Valid State of Michigan driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Commitment to assigned duties and performance expectations.
- Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree.
- Two years of Mental Health experience.
- One year of Clubhouse and/or Community Mental Health experience.

Pay
Starting Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour (depending on education and experience).
