Student positions available in the Department of Recreational Services to supervise and support club sports events, home games, and special activities on or near campus.
About the role
Event supervisors provide on-site supervision and serve as first responders in emergencies. All necessary training and certifications (Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED) will be provided. Shifts are primarily evenings and weekends during the fall and winter semesters.
Responsibilities
- Open and close facilities for on-campus events
- Set up and break down on-campus and off-campus events
- Supervise club sport competitions or practices
- Enforce rules and policies with participants and spectators
- Provide assistance to spectators
- Complete shift reports, injury reports, and other required documentation
- Attend regularly scheduled staff meetings
- Perform clerical duties and other assigned tasks
Requirements
- Current UM-Flint student
- Available to work evenings and weekends
- Reliable transportation to off-campus events
- Ability to work independently and efficiently
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to successfully complete First Aid, CPR, and AED certification course
Preferred Qualifications
- Desire to enter a medical field, event management, or related field upon degree completion
- Work-study award for the upcoming academic semester
Schedule
Shifts take place on evenings and weekends during the fall and winter semesters.
Onsite presence required at designated U-M owned or leased work locations.
