(CLS) Clinical Lab Scientist/Spec - Per Diem - 140028

About the role

Under the supervision of a Senior Supervisor CLS, perform a wide variety of technical procedures in a section of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. Other responsibilities include method development, modification, parallel testing, collaboration on or preparation of abstracts or manuscripts, repair of laboratory instruments, sample processing, reagent preparation, data entry and phlebotomy duties.

Responsibilities

• Assess the overall workload for any area that needs help and help coworkers without being reassigned by the supervisor.
• Work various hours and locations based on business needs.
• Report results without supervisor or director review for the tests that are within your scope of licensure and for which you have been trained and deemed competent.

Requirements

• A Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or appropriate sub-specialty license issued by the State of California, Department of Public Health.
• Graduation from college with a major in a relevant field.
• Two (2) or more years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• SBB (Specialist in Blood Banking, ASCP) certification.
• Experience with blood bank information systems (e.g. SoftBank).
• Experience with Ortho Vision analyzer.
• Experience with product modification workflows.

• Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.

Pay

Annual Full Pay Range: $155,076 - $155,076 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%).

Schedule

Eves, 8-Hour Shifts, Sunday-Saturday.
