Cloud Upgrades, Senior Engineer

About the role

The Cloud Services Upgrades team at PTC is seeking a PLM Upgrades Senior Engineer to manage and execute upgrades of PTC Products hosted on the cloud. This role involves managing different phases of the PLM upgrade projects, from request phase to hypercare, and ensuring on-time and quality delivery.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute PLM upgrade projects
• Design, build, test, document, support, and ensure quality implementation and education content deliverables
• Provide feedback to improve PTC products and services including software functionality, performance, implementation methodology, and service offerings
• Work closely with multiple global teams to ensure on-time and quality delivery of PLM upgrade projects
• Contribute to hands-on execution, design, development, testing, documenting, supporting upgrades of PTC solutions

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (IT, CS, Programming, etc.) with 3+ years of technical work experience
• Fluent in English with excellent written and spoken communication skills
• US Citizen with or able to obtain a Secret government clearance

Preferred Skills

• Deep knowledge with PTC PLM Windchill Product Suite – especially around the Technical Upgrade Process
• Proficiency with Windows and Linux OS
• Strong motivation to learn new technologies
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Basic networking experience
• Ability to maintain and implement effective application software on multiple technical platforms using one or more families of languages: Java SE, JavaScript, web services (REST, XML, etc.)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Active Directory, Single Sign-On technologies like Ping Federate and Shibboleth
• Knowledge of Database technologies, Oracle and Postgres
• Basic Project Management Capabilities
