Cloud Engineer, Senior

About the role

Manage, administer, support, and enhance cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Apply advanced skills or extensive technical expertise and full industry knowledge. Develop innovative solutions to complex problems. Work without considerable direction. Mentor and may supervise team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage and administer cloud environments using Amazon Web Services, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and command-line interfaces.
• Design and automate the provisioning of cloud resources and infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Terraform or Vault.
• Work with platform-as-a-service technologies such as Kubernetes.
• Understand and apply network technologies including DNS, load balancing, and TLS.
• Develop and deploy enterprise cloud-native solutions with a focus on continuous automation across multiple technical stacks.
• Troubleshoot, triage, and resolve issues for GitLab CI/CD pipeline failures or slowness.
• Triage and resolve issues for both open-source and commercial tools in public cloud environments.
• Create and improve continuous automation across multiple technical stacks.
• Apply cloud security principles.
• Program in Python and Java.

Requirements

• Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience developing and deploying enterprise cloud-native solutions, or 12+ years of experience developing and deploying enterprise cloud-native solutions in lieu of a degree.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS.
• Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux and command-line interfaces, including Bash.
• Experience designing and automating the provisioning of cloud resources and Infrastructure-as-Code tools, including Terraform or Vault.
• Experience with platform-as-a-service technologies, including Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of network technologies, including DNS, load balancing, and TLS.

Skills

• Experience creating and improving continuous automation across multiple technical stacks.
• Experience with containerization tools.
• Experience with DevOps practices and tools.
• Experience with Git or GitLab.
• Experience applying cloud security principles.
• Programming in Python and Java.

Pay

The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD).

Employees working virtually are generally expected to have their cameras on during meetings. Remote, Hybrid, and Onsite work models are available.
