Cloud Technical Writer

About the role

We are seeking an Internal Cloud Technical Writer responsible for the development and maintenance of authoritative technical documentation for our Internal Cloud Platform architectures, services, APIs, and operational processes. This role is accountable for ensuring documentation enables safe consumption, operational consistency, and effective onboarding for application and operations teams. The position will own documentation standards, structure, and lifecycle management.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain technical documentation for Internal Cloud Platform architectures, services, APIs, and operational processes.
• Produce architecture guides, service descriptions, operational runbooks, onboarding materials, and API documentation.
• Align documentation with platform tooling, automation workflows, and release standards.
• Collaborate directly with engineers, architects, and SREs to capture accurate technical content.
• Ensure documentation facilitates safe consumption, operational consistency, and effective onboarding for teams.
• Manage documentation standards, structure, and lifecycle.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience producing technical documentation for infrastructure, platforms, or developer-facing services.
• Proven ability to document architectures, APIs, automation workflows, operational runbooks, and onboarding guides.
• Working knowledge of Linux, cloud infrastructure concepts, virtualization, and DevOps terminology.
• Experience collaborating directly with engineers, architects, and SREs.

Qualifications

• A Technical Writing or Information Architecture certification (preferred).
• 5-7+ years documenting cloud platforms, PaaS, or internal developer platforms (preferred).
• Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, VMware, or platform automation concepts (preferred).
• Experience documenting self-service infrastructure or developer experiences (preferred).
