The Technical Writer - Commerce Cloud position at Salesforce is ideal for recent graduates with a background in technical writing, English, CS, or a related field. This role requires a recent graduate within 12 months of their degree completion, and involves creating high-quality, engaging content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Responsibilities
- Content Creation: Develop high-quality, accurate, and engaging content for both developer and admin/end-user audiences, including documentation, tutorials, guides, code samples, API references, and in-app assistance.
- Research and Understanding: Gain a thorough understanding of complex technical subjects within the Commerce Cloud platform.
- Collaboration: Work closely with developers, product managers, engineers, UX designers, and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of content.
- Content Strategy: Contribute to content strategy development and execution, ensuring alignment with the needs of both developer and admin audiences and the overall goals of the Commerce Cloud platform.
- User Experience: Continuously improve the user experience by providing clear, concise instructions, organizing content effectively, and incorporating user feedback to enhance accessibility and usability.
- Content Maintenance: Regularly update and maintain existing documentation to reflect changes in the Commerce Cloud platform, keeping content up-to-date and relevant.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Share knowledge, best practices, and ensure consistency across all content.
- Industry Trends: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and audience preferences to keep content relevant.
- Apply AI-based tools to enhance content creation, quality, and delivery for technical and non-technical audiences.
Requirements
- Recent graduate (masters or bachelor's) within 12 months of graduation date with degree in technical writing, English, CS or related field.
- Ability to write clean, concise, and approachable content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to conduct in-depth research and synthesize complex information into understandable content.
- Proven experience and enthusiasm for utilizing AI-based tooling, specifically Cursor and Claude, to automate and enhance content creation, quality, and delivery for technical and admin audiences.
- Understanding of software development concepts, programming languages, APIs, SDKs, and web technologies.
- Familiarity with Markdown, XML, and DITA.
- Experience with source control software.
- Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.

Pay
The typical base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $113,500 annually. In select cities within the San Francisco and New York City metropolitan area, the base salary range for this role is $90,200 - $124,000 annually.
