Cloud Engineer - AWS (Top Secret Clearance Required)

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teams to design and implement AWS system architectures
• Ensure operational status and security of government systems through ATO processes
• Review and provide input on system requirements
• Incorporate industry best practices and lessons learned into future design iterations
• Apply broad systems engineering lifecycle experience to AWS cloud initiatives
• Work with team members to move data to appropriate data stores
• Maintain and monitor dashboard metrics including cost, computational utilization, and other emerging business needs

Requirements

• Design and implement distributed, cloud-based solutions across Cloud, SOA, and Web Services architectures
• Hands-on virtualization, networking, and operating system experience
• Hands-on experience with AWS and cloud technologies
• Deep expertise across core AWS services including EC2, PaaS (OpenShift), Lambda, S3, and Reserved Instances
• Proficiency with Python for automation and scripting
• Experience with Jenkins and GitLab for CI/CD pipelines
• Experience with infrastructure as code using CloudFormation and Terraform
• Experience with monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana and Zabbix
• Experience with security and compliance scanning tools such as HP Fortify and ACAS
• Experience with PostgreSQL databases
• Experience with team collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, and RocketChat
• Working knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban
• Understanding of code baseline management
• Knowledge of systems, architectural, software development, and software sustainment practices
• Experience creating systems engineering documentation such as Version Description Documents (VDDs) and diagrams

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain a CI Polygraph
• DoD 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+) at IAT Level II/III
