Pay

Starting pay range per hour: $22.00 – $24.00.
Full pay range per hour: $22.00 – $37.40.
Pay is based on factors such as labor markets, education, work experience, and certifications.

About the Closing Team

The Closing team ensures a smooth end‑of‑day experience for guests, maintaining store standards, completing closing routines, and supporting store leadership.

Responsibilities

• Take action to achieve performance goals and evaluate candidates for open positions.
• Support team onboarding, learning, and development; hold team members accountable to expectations.
• Follow all safety and security training, processes, and emergency/compliance procedures.
• Model ethical conduct, safety, and compliance; recognize safe behaviors and address hazards.
• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests and assisting with their needs.
• Engage guests in a helpful manner and resolve specific requests.
• Thank guests and reinforce their choice to shop at Target.
• Execute physical security processes to enhance in‑store security culture.
• Support merchandise protection strategies, including ordering, storage, and application.
• Assist with guest services such as order pickup, drive‑up orders, and returns while complying with applicable laws.
• Perform other duties as needed based on business requirements.

Requirements & Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; 18 years of age or older.
• Previous retail experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lead, hold others accountable, and communicate on multiple frequency devices and handheld scanners.
• Work independently and as part of a team; manage workload and prioritize tasks.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Effective communication skills and ability to remain focused and composed in a fast‑paced environment.
• Access all areas of the building to respond to guest or team member issues.
• Interpret instructions, reports, and information accurately.
• Handle cash register operations as needed.
• Climb ladders, scan, handle, and move merchandise safely, including lifting up to 44 lb.
• Flexible work schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) with reliable and prompt attendance.
• Full‑time position without a guaranteed 40‑hour week; hours fluctuate based on business needs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures, humidity, and other elements while performing duties such as Drive‑Up and carry‑out.
• Maintain mobility for the duration of a scheduled shift.

The role requires a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and other peak shopping times. Hours are not guaranteed at 40 per week and may fluctuate based on business needs.
