Closing Assistant

About the role

D.R. Horton, Inc., the largest homebuilder in the U.S., was founded in 1978 and is a publicly traded company on the New York Stock Exchange. It is engaged in the construction and sale of high quality homes designed principally for the entry-level and first time move-up markets. The Company also provides mortgage financing and title services for homebuyers through its mortgage and title subsidiaries. D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Closing Assistant in the Closing Department. The right candidate will assist the Closing Department with general clerical duties including the filing and tracking of documents.

Responsibilities

• Review closing documents
• Balance escrow check to Closing Disclosure and Initial Escrow
• Assist in completing physical file for bond loans as needed
• Deliver bond loans to Secondary Marketing
• Able to work overtime
• Prepare and ship banking file to warehouse bank
• Sign off on conditions as needed
• Assist Post Closing with follow-up or suspense items
• File physical files as needed
• Purge files as needed
• Order office supplies as needed
• Mail initial CD’s as needed
• Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
• Six months to one year of related experience and/or training
• Ability to report to office daily; job duties cannot be done remotely
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral form or via DRH applications
• Proficiency with MS Office and email

• Strong communication skills
• Ability to multi-task and attention to detail

Pay

Annual salary range $64,000 - $70,000 depending on experience, plus bonus potential
