Essential Functions

• Review the file and complete a pre-audit form to determine if the loan is ready to close.
• Use closing software proficiently.
• Catch and correct clerical or system errors in the loan package or in calculating the payoff.
• Affirm that all underwriting conditions are met before sending closing packages.
• Deliver closing packages to settlement agents promptly.
• Prepare and ensure the Closing Disclosure (CD) complies with Underwriting guidelines.
• Communicate and resolve issues with Closing Agents during borrower closings.
• Conduct a pre-funding audit on each file before disbursement.
• Know and understand how to fund loans.
• Provide exceptional customer service with innovative and creative solutions.

Job Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 2 years mortgage closing experience.
• Good organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of agency and underwriting guidelines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Basic knowledge of accounting principles including debiting and crediting.
• Knowledge of FHA, USDA, VA, FNMA, and FHLMC guidelines.
• Ability to meet sudden deadlines.
• Multi-task orientation.
• Excellent PC skills.
• Knowledge of closing practices, mortgage documentation, recording practices, title/abstract legalities.
• Some formal Underwriting or Processing experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of lending guidelines for all states is a plus.
• Knowledge of how to use MSP.
• Third party lending production experience is preferred.
